Radio: Kim is a gifted interviewer and an award-winning radio producer with over 25 years experience in BBC Radio. Her specialism is producing thoughtful, moving interviews with people who are not used to being recorded. She’s known for treating difficult subjects with sensitivity and integrity. Her radio programmes have won Gold awards in Europe and the United States.
Training: For the past fifteen years Kim has also provided regular training sessions for the BBC on basic and advance radio feature making.
Sound Life Portraits: Kim enjoys recording and shaping people’s life stories for individual commissions. From a recorded conversation made in the comfort of people’s homes, she creates a sound portrait of their life. This is then put onto CD to share with family, friends and future generations.
Reminiscence Work: Recently Kim presented Living In the Memory Room, a BBC Radio 4 programme about caring for her mother, Audrey, who had dementia. She found that through reminiscence work with objects, she could take her mum back to happier times. Since her mother died, Kim has offered reminiscence activity sessions in care homes.
